Statement lighting is one of our favorite things to add when designing your room or home makeover.

If you live in a small home or have a smaller place to renovate and design, there’s no reason it shouldn’t be stylish and outstanding.  One of the current trends is to build smaller and better, while mixing old with new.  All of us love the past and bringing that love into your new home is a huge trend worthy of writing about.

Art Deco pieces have become interesting and statement pieces, such as: folding screens and side chairs that provide dazzle and interest.

The addition of foreign crafts into your interior design has made a strong comeback.  Rich blues and oriental reds are welcome colors in art effects, vases, throws, pillows and rugs.

Mixing the old with the new is a fun way to warm up a room and gives you the feeling that you’re home.

Green spaces added to your interior and exterior have a Japanese origin and are stunning when mixed with some of your favorite pieces.  Even adding some interesting industrial pieces that have a homey feel bring strong interest to the area of a room or even added to furniture or artwork.  I know some outstanding artwork that is fixed with silver bolts and washers.  The art work is stunning and draws the attention of everyone who views it.

One of the most important things you can do with your new found passion for design is to look into strong statement lighting.  Island lighting and magnificent pieces over the dinning room table change a room from ordinary to stunning.
