Milwaukee, WI – Haven Interiors, Milwaukee’s acclaimed and award-winning interior design firm, is proud to announce its participation in the cherished Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse (WBCS) Showhouse for a Cure, taking place May 31 through June 15, 2025, at 3477 N. Lake Drive, Milwaukee, WI.
A beloved tradition in Milwaukee’s spring social scene, the Showhouse for a Cure draws design enthusiasts, community leaders, and supporters of a meaningful cause. Ali Burke and Sydney Brengel, the new owners of Haven Interiors, will unveil an innovative space that reflects their unique blend of timeless elegance and modern flair.
As you step into the entryway, your eye is immediately drawn to a showstopping feature: hand-painted plaid wall art, thoughtfully applied over the original stucco. With a nod to tradition and a wink to modernity, Haven reimagines classic plaid—amplifying its scale and transforming it into a bold, artisan’s canvas that speaks to innovation and craft.
“The homeowner had a deep love for tradition, and we wanted to respect that—but tradition doesn’t have to mean predictable,” says Sydney Brengel. “Plaid has this beautifully timeless quality, and we saw it as a canvas to reimagine. Our goal was to weave together the familiar and the unexpected, creating something that feels both rooted and refreshingly original.
This year’s showhouse presented an opportunity for the team to lend their expertise to a meaningful cause through the lens of design. “We’re honored to contribute our talents to a cause that touches so many lives,” says Ali Burke. “Design has the power to evoke emotion, tell stories, and spark hope. That’s what we’re bringing to this year’s showhouse—heart, soul, and a whole lot of beauty.
Now in its 24th year, the Showhouse brings together thousands of design enthusiasts, philanthropists, and supporters. All proceeds benefit early-stage breast cancer and prostate cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin—advancing science, saving lives, and offering hope for the future.
